His focus is to continue to develop our collection division to aggressively pursue a portfolio of general collections for the Ohio Attorney General. This includes the Ohio Department of Tax, the Ohio BWC, ODJFS, and many other state agencies.<\/p>\n
The general collection portfolio contains a substantial volume of active matters that require continual communication and correspondence; extensive skip tracing to locate people, businesses, and assets; obtain judgments through litigation as required; enforcement proceedings for wage garnishments, bank sweeps (non-wage garnishments), subpoenas, judgment debtor exams; and other discovery techniques. We are rolling out a fully customized software platform to facilitate even more effective and efficient operations of our collection division. The software will increase our ability to process collection matters more efficiently and monitor performance through extensive reporting tools.<\/p>\n
Our firm is one of five firms selected by the Ohio Attorney General to manage the Findings for Recovery (“FFRs”) portfolio for the Auditor of State. We have been very active in litigation for this portfolio for a little over eight years, leading to many successful FFR portfolio recoveries. The FFR portfolio often requires attempting to resolve claims with liable individuals, fiduciary bond companies, or the entity’s insurance provider. If the matter can’t be resolved through soft collections, then we litigate in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas to obtain a judgment.<\/p>\n
